Each topic is covered in six strands – organisation, selectivity, energy flow, perpetuation, evolution and human awareness. The strands illustrate the relevance and importance of the integration of these life science themes in the functioning and sustaining life within the realms of human impact, interactions of living organisms and the advances of biotechnology on the biosphere.
Students are encouraged to bring their problem areas in the different theme topics and tasks for discussion and assistance. Students are prepared and directed in sound learning skills and the techniques of how to approach and answer questions confidently under examination conditions. They are assisted in effective design of their biological investigation issues topic, in the skills of planning, writing and developing correct strategies in their practical tasks.
